Greetings and Salutations to all our fellow Bruins!

30 years ago we were all wondering what the future would hold including what would we wear to prom, (dark blue tux with light blue ruffles was just the first in a long line of poor fashion choices for me) whether or not we could afford to fill up our gas tank at 95 cents a gallon (we could), who would take our places on the wall in the quad or the smoker's circle in 1981(Juniors would), and whether or not someone would drive a truck through Mrs. McKeehan's Home Economics class one night in bungled prank attempt the last week of school (they did). Yes, the Class of 1980 really left their mark on Ponderosa, some in more permanent ways than others! At any rate, flash forward 30 years and we find ourselves again in an unpredictable time, yearning for the days when $10 could get you to Sunrise Mall and back after cruising for several hours, and still wondering what the future holds. Well our Magic 8 balls broke a long time ago, and we can't bring back cheap gas, but today we bring you glad tidings regarding your future as it relates to your past! After weeks of research and deliberations, a date, time, and location has been chosen for your 30 year reunion!! It promises to be a great time for all in an incredible setting with the best view in the foothills and awesome food and drinks. We have even locked down the services of the Boston Brawler himself, The Amazing Johhny B (you know and love him as Coach Bosch) to DJ the event for us! Does that sound like something you might want to attend? Well don't answer yet because there's more! In addition to rubbing elbows with old friends and dancing the night away to the sounds of the 70's and 80's your admission will also include a sumptuous buffet and embarrassing pictures and stories about all the other classmates except you. Are you ready to commit now? Well hang on my friend because there's even more. The venue we have chosen is first class, and the coup de grace in this deal was when Ted Modena gave the rest rooms the "That's the nicest crapper I have ever been in" seal of approval! So standby for the drum roll as we unveil the long awaited announcement about the Ponderosa High School Class of 1980 30 Year Reunion event..

Why: Because after 30 years it's time for a great party with good friends

More info to follow as we lock down pricing but the date and place is firm. We could not work out a date that coincided with a home football game but the team is playing at Elk Grove the night before for those who may want to attend. Also, please email md11plt@aol.com if you are interested in playing golf Friday afternoon. I will need firm numbers soon so let me know ASAP. We are looking at a Family Event either Saturday or Sunday if there is enough interest so please let me know using the above email address if you are interested and what your preference is.

For you out of town types, we will be blocking rooms at some local hotels with free shuttle service to the event. Again, more info out soon on that after we negotiate group rates and amenities.

We really need some help in spreading the word. Lori Enos has graciously volunteered to be the main contact coordinator so please email her at ma4codygrey@yahoo.com with your contact info as well as anyone other classmates you are still in touch with. For those that have volunteered to help, thank you and we will be in touch shortly as preparations begin. If you know you are coming please let Lori know in your email. Once we set the price we will give payment instructions. Keep in mind we are limited to about 200 attendees so get your money in early. If you know you can't make it, please let her know that as well. We hope everyone can but can't be held responsible for making up stories about those that don't attend!!

For any others that may have special skills, we are looking for help with a multimedia presentation of scanned pictures and someone who could help make name tags with our yearbook pictures on it. The more help we get the lower the cost so sign up now.

It's been 30 years since The Miracle on Ice, 30 years since "Who shot JR" and 30 years since Vern Browning scared the heck out of us all roaming the halls of Ponderosa. It's time to get psyched and get ready for a great party to celebrate the last 30 years of post high school freedom! We look forward to seeing you all then..
